I figured I should blog about my campaign as well as share via Twitter and Facebook.
As a little experiment, I have set up a crowd funding campaign laden with cool perks for folks that contribute to it (ranging from £1 up to £100).
Check out the IndieGoGo site to get a bit of background about the way they work.
Crowd funding is something I have a keen interest in – I have backed some campaigns and the level of support from peers and so on is astounding! I first became aware of these types of services via a number of podcasts I have listened to such as Tell ’em Steve-Dave and many others.
I figured I’d jump in as a project as opposed to a backer this time and thanks to the flexible funding it means that even if the goal isn’t reached, the money can still be put to good use and, most importantly, you get your perks!
So, please check out my campaign and contribute and/or share – any support would be greatly appreciated and won’t go unrecognised!
Thanks to a liker on Facebook, Rich, I had my first contribution yesterday – like I said, I am under no illusion about hitting the £5000 goal, but hopefully I’ll have a few backers who can earn themselves some awesome rewards!
This is my first proper gaming post in regards to juicy details. I am waiting for my review copy of Far Cry 4 to arrive in the mail from Ubisoft (hopefully I get a chance to write a nice in-depth review at some point!)
The PR team fired over some details regarding the launch trailer and the Companion App (available on iOS and Android).
Today, Ubisoft announced that Far Cry® 4, sequel to the #1 rated shooter of 2012*, is now available worldwide on PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment systems, Xbox One, Xbox 360 games and entertainment systems from Microsoft and Windows PC.
Developed by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with other Ubisoft studios Far Cry 4 invites the player to experience the most expansive and immersive Far Cry ever, in an entirely new, massive open world. Players will find themselves in Kyrat, a breath-taking, perilous and wild region of the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king. Using a vast array of weapons, vehicles and animals, players will write their own story across an exotic open-world landscape.
Check out the trailer below…how beautiful does this game look?
The Companion App is a pretty interesting addition too…
Arena Master, the Far Cry 4 Companion App, is now available on IOS and Android, both for tablets and smartphones.
In Far Cry 4, you’ll prove your combat prowess and fight for fame and fortune in Noore’s Arena. You’ll earn the respect of roaring crowds and test your will to survive, battling man and beast alike, until only one contestant remains standing. The Arena Master Companion App on mobile devices allows the player to explore the open-world, collect animals or mercenaries for his own personal pens and send them to battle against other players on the console or PC version of the game. The player can share his progress and send custom Far Cry 4 arena challenges to his friends from just about anywhere with an internet connection and his iPad or Android device.
Also check out the Far Cry 4 Poker game!
This should allow for more updates and the ability to keep on top of things a bit more easily from an admin point of view due to time limitations (work, family life and other ad-hoc stuff that may occur – especially on the run up to Christmas).
Some more SDCC stuff is dropping in but I’m awaiting details on the final bits and bobs (Luke/Wampa, Sharknado etc.)
Since moving back to Royal Mail for deliveries, I have had no complaints of damaged items – screw you Hermes!
I’m trying to get my hands on retired POP!s and items about to be retired (not just for my coillection!) – I have had a few requests that I’m looking into – if there are any pieces you are after (not necessarily Funko) then drop me a message and I’ll see what I can do!
It has been a VERY long time since I’ve posted anything here – since going back to work things have been a bit chaotic and trying to find time to sit down and write/podcast has been pretty hard.
I won’t delve into all the stuff that’s been going on (I’ll save that for my personal blog) but let’s just say the business has been pretty busy, work has been exhausting me, sickness and generally just conducting my day to day with a houseful of women (no, not a brothel – other half and 3 girls)!
I’ve been looking into having authors on the blog(s) again as I don’t want the content to just “die” and it’d be interesting to have different perspectives and stuff going on.
In the meantime, I’m gonna get to editing some of these recordings and try to get these podcasts out!
