This month sees the return of the Hallowe’en treats only there’s a difference this time around.
Every order that is placed and dispatched this month will include some sugary treats as well as a raffle ticket which gives you a chance to win a mystery prize (horror/Hallowe’en themed).
On top of that, I am having a sale and will be adding more to the list on the run up to Christmas so why not bag yourself a bargain, get some sweets and a ticket and await the prize draw (it takes place in early November)?
I’ve been toying with the idea of offering mystery boxes on the store; one-offs as well as recurring subscriptions. My only reservation is that there is an increasingly saturated market for these and standing out from the crowd will be an issue – especially as a newcomer who operates solo as opposed to a team of diligent workers. One other issue in terms of bringing a unique take on the mystery box world is the fact that it is very limited in what can be done to be different as it’s a very simple principle at the heart of it.
In regards to the monthly recurring scheme: if I do step into this venture it’ll be opened up to a small number as a means of piloting the service and gaining valuable feedback to see whether it’s worthwhile.
I’m looking at implementing the one-offs relatively soon as there is no risk involved in it. Just a simple case of adding an option to the store to purchase a mystery item. I’m also looking at doing a cheaper option for any box damaged items – I have a couple I’ve been holding onto until I decided what to do with them (Crow GITD and the SDCC 2014 Flocked Rocket Raccoon).
Ultimately, this hangs on the customer base (you) and the value you gain from this and I would love to have ideas/comments in regards to these propositions. Any feedback is welcome – drop a comment below!
Welcome to this week’s Nerdful Things! I’m going to break stride for a sec and congratulate the winner of the 1,000 likes competition for the awesome Play Arts Kai Harley Quinn Variant. So, congratulations goes to Shona aka Ellie Jayden! It feels good to offer up some awesomeness but especially when the person shows true appreciation – her Twitter reaction says it all. As disappointed as I was with the small number of entries, I am glad I had people put some effort in as a prize like this should go to someone who makes an effort and not just a lazy like, share and that’s it. Below is the winning entry:
Before I delve into some of the awesomeness available, I also wanted to announce the integration of a new scheme on the store: certain pre-order items will have discounts applied within a certain window of time before they revert to the regular price. To qualify for the discount, all you have to do is order within that time – the price will show as discounted on the respective product page/in your cart/at checkout. Simple. Bear in mind that this is not on ALL pre-orders and the window of time may be a few days to a week or two so if you want to save a little bit of cash then get in there quick!
So, that being said, here is the first (and only item at the time of writing this) item available at a discounted price. This GITD Vaultboy from the newly announce Fallout series from Funko! This guy has clearly been hanging out with The Glowing One. Or he’s been wandering around the Wasteland without the correct gear and has a stupidly high RAD reading.
This deadline is very tight and it’s been hard work trying to cram all the goodies in for this one! You may notice some of the items from the last RUSH ORDER post are here along with other items from their respective series’ and also a lot of others. Orders need to be in (either by placing on the store or dropping me a message on the Facebook page with your PayPal details so I can send you an invoice) by 09:30 on July 1st.
I decided to stop posting items on Facebook today as there were just too many and I wasn’t expecting such a large Funko drop so close to the last one!
Links to each item are below to go directly to the respective product page(s). You can also purchase the items on eBay (a portion of my listings are at the bottom of this post) if you prefer .
It’s that time again where Facebook and Twitter get a hammering with updates in lieu of my next shipment. There’s a lot of exciting items that are available and I need to confirm what numbers I need to finalise it. The deadline is to be confirmed. The deadline is Friday, June 26th so the shipment would be expected to reach me around the end of next week or start of the following week.
So, in case you missed the various posts that I tried to space out using the scheduling features, here’s what’s available to get in.
I’ll update this post with the cut off date but in the meantime, if you are interested in any of the above items, click the respective links and place your order via the store, order via eBay or drop me a message on the Facebook page with your PayPal details and what item(s) you want and I can raise an invoice.
[Insert grunts and snorts here]. ’nuff said really. This awesome Funko POP! is available for pre-order now!
Minion USB Flash Drives
These awesome Minion flash drives can help you take over the world. Or at least carry your files and any other important digital content with you! Hit the store for more details!
DC Comics ARTFX+ PVC 1/10 Batman: Arkham Knight statues
No weekly update would be complete without some Batman items and considering how big next week is gonna be, it seems fitting to have some Arkham Knight products! Both Batman and the Arkham Knight are available to pre-order (sold separately).
So, those are my picks for this past week. Check out the store for more new items!
This week, Funko announced the Fallout and Elder Scrolls additions to their ever expanding list of licences. Tied in with the Fallout 4 announcement from Bethesda – it’s been a pretty damn big week for all things gaming!
The POP!s are available for pre-order on the store now. The fallout range is due in August and the Elder Scrolls are set to drop in September.
As I was adding the POP!s to the store, I couldn’t help but think about the inevitable variants and, naturally, the first that sprung to mind was the “Glowing One“.
