Nerdful Things 11/07/15

Let’s start this week’s Nerdful Things with the news of the Mystery Funko POP!  The option to buy a random Funko POP! from my in stock items (unless they sell out in which case I will order more random POP!s in) has been added to the store.  I’m still looking at other mystery box options (other manufacturers as well as bigger boxes packed with goodies).   As a bonus, the mystery box is being offered at a discounted price (cheaper than the cost of a regular POP!) for the first month.

Now, at this point I had intended on adding the other store additions here.  I had left it for today to update but yesterday a bombshell hit my e-mail.  A short and sweet e-mail with details of the SDCC Funko POP! pre-orders so I dropped everything.  After a rush to break the news I managed to get the store updated and also hit up eBay.  It’s taken a while in between my internet completely screwing up (I’ve rebooted my router countless times over the last 24 hours) as well as handling all the e-mails, messages and looking after 3 kids.  Considering my current state of health I haven’t done too bad!

Anyhoo, enough about my woes!  This week’s Nerdful things has now been hijacked by SDCC and I will to a bumper edition next week to cover what I was going to do originally!

You can view/pre-order the SDCC POP!s here.

I’ve submitted my figures to the distributor and hope to fulfill each and every order.  In the event I can’t, full/partial refunds (where applicable) will be issued.  Last year was less of a rush, considering I’d only been in operation for about 3 months.  More warning was given regarding the available items but it came with the drawback that items were staggered from August to November and saw some MAJOR delays and turned into some cancellations.  This year has seen a whirlwind tear through but the plus side is that the items are scheduled to drop much, much sooner.  Most are scheduled for later this month with a couple in August and one in September/October.  Details of estimated dates are on each product page.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the various announcements and news coming from San Diego and if you’re actually there or have been…well. I’m sure you’re feeling victorious after some epic hauls and signings etc!

Nerdful Things 04/07/15

Welcome to this week’s Nerdful Things!  I’m going to break stride for a sec and congratulate the winner of the 1,000 likes competition for the awesome Play Arts Kai Harley Quinn Variant.   So, congratulations goes to Shona aka Ellie Jayden!  It feels good to offer up some awesomeness but especially when the person shows true appreciation – her Twitter reaction says it all.  As disappointed as I was with the small number of entries, I am glad I had people put some effort in as a prize like this should go to someone who makes an effort and not just a lazy like, share and that’s it.  Below is the winning entry:

harleyyyy[1]
I really want that Joker doll…

Before I delve into some of the awesomeness available, I also wanted to announce the integration of a new scheme on the store: certain pre-order items will have discounts applied within a certain window of time before they revert to the regular price.  To qualify for the discount, all you have to do is order within that time – the price will show as discounted on the respective product page/in your cart/at checkout.  Simple.  Bear in mind that this is not on ALL pre-orders and the window of time may be a few days to a week or two so if you want to save a little bit of cash then get in there quick!

So, that being said, here is the first (and only item at the time of writing this) item available at a discounted price.  This GITD Vaultboy from the newly announce Fallout series from Funko!  This guy has clearly been hanging out with The Glowing One.  Or he’s been wandering around the Wasteland without the correct gear and has a stupidly high RAD reading.

Next up, we have the American Horror Story: Freakshow POP!s.   I posted a RUSH ORDER towards the end of last week and a lot of the items are (thankfully) still available to order in, including this series.  Elsa Mars & Ma Petite seem especially popular (4 times more than any of the others)!  Also available are: Bette & Dot (Tattler Twins), Pepper & Twisty The Clown.

How awesome are these newly announced Doctor Who POP!s?

4th Doctor with Jelly Beans

11th Doctor with Fez & Mop

12th Doctor with Spoon

And finally, here is the last of my picks – the Star Wars Jawa re-release!

That’s just a taster of some of the goodies added this week.  For more, check the store homepage.

Nerdful Things 21/06/15

Oh, hello!  A slightly later post this week…you can thank The Elder Scrolls Online for that.  I am hooked.  5 days in and I’m addicted majorly!

But that doesn’t mean there’s been no store updates!  So what are the picks this week?  Stick around and I shall tell thee.

[Insert grunts and snorts here].  ’nuff said really.  This awesome Funko POP! is available for pre-order now!

These awesome Minion flash drives can help you take over the world.  Or at least carry your files and any other important digital content with you!  Hit the store for more details!

DC Comics ARTFX+ PVC 1/10 Batman: Arkham Knight statues

No weekly update would be complete without some Batman items and considering how big next week is gonna be, it seems fitting to have some Arkham Knight products!  Both Batman and the Arkham Knight are available to pre-order (sold separately).

So, those are my picks for this past week.  Check out the store for more new items!

Lego Dimensions

Good morning (or whatever part of the day it is that you’re reading this)!

I had an e-mail towards the end of last week and decided to share some awesome news.  A distributor has reached out to me to offer me the opportunity of jumping on the “toys to life” craze.  And, I must admit, Skylanders has never really taken me.  Disney Infinity was tempting but the different versions etc. seems confusing for the consumer and when I heard of Dimensions, I was keen for me personally as I love Lego and the possibilities that it may offer really captured my imagination (tie that in with the announcement of Lego releasing a game akin to Minecraft and it’s a case of ‘mind = blown’).

Below are details taken from the Lego Dimensions fact sheet that I have been supplied and I will be looking to add the various sets to the store very soon.  In the meantime, check out the deets below!

Let creativity be the guide to a building and gaming adventure – journey through unexpected worlds and team-up with unlikely allies on the quest to defeat the evil Lord Vortech.  Play with different minifigures from different worlds together in one LEGO videogame, and use each other’s vehicles and gadgets in a way never before possible.  LEGO® Bad Cop™ driving the DeLorean Time Machine…why not?!  The LEGO® Ninjago™ Masters of Spinjitsu fighting alongside Wonder Woman™…yes, please!  Get ready to break the rules, because the only rule with LEGO Dimensions is that there are no rules.

The LEGO® Dimensions Starter Pack is all players need to begin – build the base and embark on a fantastic quest.  Included in the LEGO® Dimensions Starter Pack:

  • LEGO® Dimensions videogame
  • LEGO® Toy Pad
  • Bricks to build the LEGO® Gateway
  • 3 LEGO® minifigures (Batman, Gandalf, and Wyldstyle)
  • LEGO® Batmobile vehicle

Build the minifigure heroes and fire-up the game to start the experience, then follow the in-game build instructions to assemble the loose bricks into the LEGO® Gateway, and place the structure on the LEGO® Toy Pad.  Expand the adventure by collecting more minifigures, vehicles, gadgets, and new levels with the purchase of three different types of expansion packs.  Use whatever minifigure with whichever vehicle or gadget – go ahead… break the rules!

Level Pack:  Want more to explore?  Expand the gaming experience with a level pack which contains a whole new mission-based game level, along with a minifigure, a vehicle and a gadget to build and use in-game.

Team Pack:  Want the biggest collection?  Get a dynamic pair of minifigures and a vehicle or gadget for each, all with their own unique in-game abilities.

Fun Pack:  Want the best variety? Extra fun comes in each pack containing one minifigure and a vehicle or gadget.

Key Features:

  • An Extreme Cross-Over. For the first time in any LEGO® videogame, characters from a mix of some of the best brands in the universe join forces and battle in worlds outside of their own. A Dark Knight, a Wizard, and a LEGO® Master Builder travelling together down the Yellow Brick Road is just the beginning…
  • Keep Expanding. By purchasing additional expansion packs, players can grow their collection with a variety of their favourite brands to create even more crazy combinations.
  • More is Better. Bring up to seven minifigures, vehicles and/or gadgets into the game all at once by dropping them on the LEGO® Toy Pad for the most exciting and action-filled game around.
  • Play Alone or with a Friend. Players can let imagination guide their solo journey or have a friend join the adventure with co-operative, drop-in/drop-out play.
  • The Starter Pack Will Last. The LEGO® Toy Pad and the videogame found in the initial Starter Pack will offer continued compatibility with future Expansion Packs for years to come.  Like any LEGO building set, LEGO Dimensions is a system of play that offers continued compatibility – everything bought today or expanded with tomorrow will continue to work.

Game Storyline:

There is an ancient planet at the centre of the LEGO® Multiverse inhabited by an evil mastermind, Lord Vortech.  It is said that he who controls the Foundational Elements that this planet is built upon, controls all of the Multiverse.  Lord Vortech has vowed to be that ruler, summoning characters from a variety of LEGO worlds to help him find these building bricks of LEGO® civilization.  Some have agreed.  Others have rebelled.  And only the combined powers of the greatest LEGO® heroes can stop him.

When a mysterious and powerful vortex suddenly appears in various LEGO worlds, different characters from DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings™ and The LEGO® Movie are swept away.   To save their friends, Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle bravely jump into the vortex.  As they journey to locations beyond their wildest imaginations in search of their friends, they soon realize that Lord Vortech is summoning villains from across different LEGO® worlds to help him gain control. As his power grows, worlds mix, unexpected characters meet and all boundaries are broken. Our heroes must travel through space and time to rescue their friends before the vortexes destroy all of LEGO® humanity.

Site Updates

Hello!

I’ve added a couple of new sections to the store “Instock” (exactly what it says on the tin) and “Incoming” (again, pretty self explanatory).

This should allow for more updates and the ability to keep on top of things a bit more easily from an admin point of view due to time limitations (work, family life and other ad-hoc stuff that may occur – especially on the run up to Christmas).

Some more SDCC stuff is dropping in but I’m awaiting details on the final bits and bobs (Luke/Wampa, Sharknado etc.)

Since moving back to Royal Mail for deliveries, I have had no complaints of damaged items – screw you Hermes!

I’m trying to get my hands on retired POP!s and items about to be retired (not just for my coillection!) – I have had a few requests that I’m looking into – if there are any pieces you are after (not necessarily Funko) then drop me a message and I’ll see what I can do!

Nerdgazzum Podcast 3 – Store Update Week 38

Hello again!

The new podcast would have gone up on Saturday night but I accidentally rebooted my laptop and hadn’t saved the file so had to re-record!

So, the store had its first batch of SDCC Exclusives hit as well as some other items.  Plus we have the newly added items for pre-order.

Now, here is THIS weeks (last weeks now…) offering of updatey goodness.

Nerdgazzum Podcast 2 – Store Update Week 37

Hey folks!

After a bit of an impromptu hiatus due to me going to Scotland and then coming back to issues with my webhost meaning the store was down for 5 days straight I am back!

[powerpress]

So, as I mention in this episode, Week 36 was omitted due to the issues and me having been able to add only 2 items which need to be re-added.

Here’s a visual of what’s new for last week:

Store Update – Week 33

This weeks update is mahooooosive!  The largest number of items for a good few weeks have been added and amongst all of that delectable goodness…SDCC Exclusives!!!

As a newcomer to the game, I was panicking as I really wanted to be able to sell SDCC items and for a while I was thinking I was stuck with just the one (Deathstroke) but then, my supplier dropped me an e-mail and my jaw hit the floor!
